Ida Toft - ELEKTRA
Ida Toft is an artist and researcher based in Tiohtià:ke (Montreal). Ida holds a doctorate from the Fine Arts Faculty at Concordia University (Canada), a Master of Science from the IT university of Copenhagen (Denmark) and a BA in Social Science from Roskilde University (Denmark). Being involved with experimental game creation since 2007, Ida has shown this work across Europe and North America in art spaces, play festivals and game parties/events, including the opening of the 55th Venice Biennale (Italy), Ars Electronica (Austria), Transmediale (Germany), Wildrumpus (UK), Amaze Fest (Germany), etc. Using their knowledge from game creation and interactive experience design, they work at the intersection of performance, sculpture, installation, and workshop formats. Since February 2023, they have worked at ELEKTRA as the Digital Production Director, where they are primarily responsible for the development of ELEKTRA's Virtual Museum (EVM).
Virtual Museology: The ELEKTRA Virtual Museum - a case study
In this talk, ELEKTRA’s director of digital productions will present a peek into the development of the ELEKTRA Virtual Museum. Starting as a series of downloadable desktop experiences to a large-scale, location-based, multi-visitor VR environment, attendees will learn about the challenges and design choices that shaped the platform that is currently in development.
