Quadrature
Quadrature uses technology as a means to read and write realities, using data as primary artistic material. The Berlin-based artists use transdisciplinary media to create artworks that not only capture the intersection between art and science, but also the convergence of digital and analog. The two members of the group, Juliane Götz and Sebastian Neitsch, met during their studies, in 2015 they started their artistic collaboration. Their work is shown worldwide in various museums, galleries and festivals.
C.R.E.D.O
CREDO – Cosmic Radio Engine for Delusional Observations
A radio telescope scans the skies in search of signs of extraterrestrial life.
The received raw signals serve as input data for a neural network that has been trained on human theories and ideas about extraterrestrials. Now it is desperately trying to apply this knowledge and discover possible messages from other civilisations in the noise of the universe. Mysterious murmurs resound as the artificial intelligence delves deeper and deeper into the extraterrestrial data. Will it find the ultimate proof?
The sound installation revolves around one of humanity's oldest unsolved questions: are we alone in the universe?
As long as no definitive positive proof of further life is found, this question cannot be answered unequivocally. After all, the absence of evidence is no evidence of absence. Until then, it was and is a question of faith, of beliefs and assumptions, on the border between reality and fiction, where scientific knowledge and the wildest speculation merge.
