unStable Mirror

unStable Mirror is an interactive installation that explores the capabilities, limitations, and inherent biases of generative artificial neural networks like Stable Diffusion. Participants capture their image by pressing a red button that activates the unStable Mirror. The installation processes this image by extracting edges and generating a textual description, which are fed into the Stable Diffusion model to produce a new, AI-generated image. Through a recursive transformation process—where each generated image is fed back into the model—the original image undergoes continuous metamorphosis. This evolving visual journey prompts viewers to reflect on AI's impact on perception and representation in the digital age.
